Videos to help your business part 1
With so many different types and styles of video content out there, it can be hard to know what’s right for your business so through this blog I am going to list some videos that you could have made that can improve your business.
Videos are becoming increasingly popular online, did you know that 1/3 of peoples time online is spent watching videos? And did you know, by having a video on your website you are 53x more likely to show up on the first page of Google? Being on the first page of Google will increase your click-through rate and help increase brand awareness.
Have you ever looked at buying a product but then saw it had a bad review? This is because people trust what other people say. So it is always important to show off your good reviews and what better way to do it than through a video testimonial. Video testimonials showcase your happy customers giving a good review to camera. These are a great way to give your company, services and products a personal touch.
However, it is important that the person presenting the testimonial for you looks like they are having a conversation and not reading a script. If the video comes across as scripted then it can discredit what they are saying and can make the video seem fake.
Similar to testimonials, ‘Vox pops’ is an industry term for a video that highlights an opinion through members of the public, and they are generally filmed on location or outside. Say you are running an event you could get a couple of people to step aside and ask them to explain why they are there, what’s going on, are they enjoying themselves, would they come back?
Or say you are running a big campaign but you want to get some more coverage, you can go out to the public or an event and simply ask people the same questions. This can be a good way of drawing more attention to your campaign and at the same time raise your brand awareness.
Another great way you can give your business personality is to have an introduction video on the home page of your website. It can just be a short video of you saying who you are and what your company does. They can also be a good way to highlight your company values and your USPs to your audience.
A video showing how you and your employees go about your day to day life at work or how you all get a job done can be a great addition to an introduction video. These types of videos can make your customers feel like they know you and your brand on a personal level which can encourage people to engage with your website more. This can then lead to social media engagement (if you have social links on your website) and can also lead to an increase in sales. As stated earlier, people buy from people at the end of the day.
‘How to’ / demo
These videos are exactly what they sound like; you make a video showing your customers how to use a product or how to do something. Any company can get a ‘how to’ style video made, but what you demonstrate should be relevant to your company and your brand. For example, a car manufacturer could make a video you how to pump up tyres. Or a health store could make a video showing how to make some nice healthy meals.
In addition to this, if your company has a new product coming out, you can make a video as part of its marketing campaign showing people how to use it. A good place to put this would be on your website as 72% of businesses using video said that it has increased their websites conversion rates.
Similarly, if a product has been out for a while but customers have been complaining that the instructions may be hard to follow or the product is hard to use, a simple ‘how to’ video can be a great solution to the problem.
Behind the scenes
I’m sure most of you have watched a behind the scenes video before, there are many out there and from many different companies. In case you haven’t, it’s a video which shows ‘behind the scenes’ footage of your company, product or services. Again these are a great way to showcase your companys values and USPs, but they can also help give your business a personality and helps to build a relationship with your audience.
If you have watched a behind the scenes video before, did you feel like you knew that brand better after watching it? This is because these types of videos make you feel like you were a part of the team.
A product video is basically a video advert for one or more of your products. These videos are a good way just to showcase your products and explain what they are. Videos can have a huge impact on peoples buying decisions so much in fact that people are 85% more likely to buy a product after watching a video.
