Welcome to part 2 of 'All year round business videos', in this blog we will be giving you even more ideas for events you can cover with video in marketing strategy. If you haven't read part one of this blog, here's the link. 


Black Friday  

If you market yourself and your product correctly, Black Friday can be a goldmine for sales. Remember that before people buy a product, they usually like to see it in action (especially if it’s going to cost them a lot of money) and there’s no better way to show how a product works than in a short video.

Did you know that almost 50% of customers look for a product video before they visit a shop? That could be 50% of your potential customers.

One of our clients used video to boost their sales of the Barrington Watch Winder on Black Friday and saw numerous hits on their social platforms as a result.



It’s the perfect time of year to sell any type of food, drinks, clothing or makeup. And if you do, then why not market yourself with a spooktacular video! (excuse the pun) You could release a series of ‘How to’ style videos demonstrating how to make horror themed drinks or snacks. Or you could even release some ‘How to….’ videos showing people are using your makeup to create the perfect Halloween look.  Maybe there’s scope to fun a Facebook competition for the best Halloween look?

Alternatively, if you run a yearly Halloween event, why not get a professional video producer in to film the highlights of the event for your website. This is a great way for people who have never been to get an insight into what it would be like if they went. Also, if you have happy clients attending, maybe they could say a few words of testimonial on camera as well.



What a jolly time of year it is despite the cold weather! It’s the best time for you to show off your products to an audience who looking for ideas for gifts and most likely to be in buying mode.  Everyone is searching for the perfect gift for their friends and loved ones, and people tend to buy things once they have seen them in action.  


New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day

New Year’s Eve gives everyone a chance to look back on the year and appreciate what went well, review what didn’t go so well and importantly to end the year with a positive feel.

With all the celebrations and New Year resolutions, people suddenly feel motivated and want to make changes so that the next year can be even better than the last;  this can be your opportunity to show your customers that what you offer is going to help them get where they want to be. A well-made video for your product or service could be just what your potential customers need to persuade them to finalise that purchase.


Industry Events

As well as all the main events and holidays around the year, it is always a good idea to keep an eye out for what is going on within your own industry.  There are plenty of industry events and one-off holidays that happen around the year that you can make the most of.

For example, say someone goes to Reading festival; it’s probably safe to assume that they like music. Now if you own a CD shop or you sell old vinyl records, this would be a great time for you to get involved in the conversation.

Alternatively, if someone attends the London Tech Week or The Media Production Show, you can assume that they are interested in new technologies. 

Here’s a thought,  if one of your colleagues is attending one of your industries events, or even better you have a stand at the event showing off your latest products, it may be worth having someone film highlights or give a review on video for you to show on your website or social media channels. Filming events like this can help set you apart from your competitors and demonstrate your position as an industry influencer.


One Off Holidays/National Days  

One-off holidays is a great way for companies to have a bit of fun on social media and to engage with their audience. Often one-off national day’s trend on social media, meaning many people are talking about them, so if there is a national day that is relevant to your business make the most of it.

For example, the 7th of July is National Chocolate Day, the 16th November is National Button Day, the 18th of January is National Bubble Bath Day, the 13th of June is National Weed Your Garden Day and the list goes on...

By having a simple little video of your product/ service ready to share on national days that are relevant to your business you can attract the attention of your customers.

Our conclusion is that a video can be beneficial for your marketing no matter what time of year it is, you just need to find the right holidays for your business.
