Community Videos

Case Study

The Slough Business Community Partnership (SBCP) is a Community Interest Company (CIC) involved in bringing their communities together, predominantly charities or the not-for-profit organisations with businesses.  Opportunities for businesses and local communities to work together on projects that improve facilities and communications are a great way of demonstrating corporate social responsibility, and making a real difference to many people.

The Project

After a discovery session looking at SBCP’s target audience and areas where they could expand and develop their community support,  the Take One team worked in conjunction with the Partnership Manager to develop a video and communications strategy that offered a set of economical yet powerful video content for use at main annual conference event, as well as going forward on line.

Once the creative content and format was agreed, the Take One crew set to work in developing a plan of action.  There was a lot to organise, many people to speak and collaborate with in order to co-ordinate the charities and businesses that would to be filmed.  The venues and projects chosen for filming demonstrated the opportunities for corporate social responsibility. We then obtained permissions to film at the various venues and with contributors so that filming schedules could be agreed.

For the client and some of their contributors this would be their first time appearing on camera, and naturally they felt a little daunted at the prospect.  However, as ever, the Take One team briefed and prepared everyone in advance, and on the filming days our crew were on hand to help them feel relaxed, arming them with ideas and tactics to let their personalities shine through.

The Result

The completed video was premiered at SBCP's conference and after the event, an alternative cut of the original video content was made specifically for use on social media channels. The Take One team also gave the Partnership guidance on how to best use the video on their social platforms to increase local engagement with new businesses.
