Using video marketing for Real Estate
In today’s digital world, video can and should play an important part in your digital marketing activities, and companies that use video are 65% more effective at staying relevant online. When people think of companies using video in their marketing, they often think of big brands with massive budgets, however the reality is that any business can have an effective video marketing strategy and it doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg.
In addition to this, 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual, and visuals are processed 60,000X faster in the brain than text, this is why most people prefer to watch videos and see images over reading text.
The Real Estate industry is often overlooked when it comes to digital and video marketing; however, buying, renting or selling a property is a huge step in many peoples’ lives, and you can’t deny that people buy from businesses that they feel they know and can trust. Therefore, it’s important that you also show the human side of your business, and video can be a great way to do this.
Now without further ado, here are some video ideas to help boost your real estate marketing efforts.
Time-lapse
In the past year here at Take One, we’ve been using our new time-lapse camera on projects for ourselves and for our clients. Time-lapse footage gives your customers/ clients the opportunity to view projects being worked on, and observe areas over periods of time in a short video. There is also no denying that people are fascinated by time-lapse videos, they get a very high viewing score.
Previously to capture time-lapse footage we’ve had to record for long periods of time and edit the footage to speed it up, but now with our time-lapse camera we can now capture time-lapse footage more easily.
Here are some examples of some time-lapse footage that we’ve captured.

Walk Throughs
As an alternative to pictures of a property and taking people on a face to face walk around a property, we can create a walk through style video taking your clients on a virtual tour of the property, making them feel as if they were there. This can be particularly beneficial with larger properties and industrial properties. This type of video used in a mail out and really help focus in on those who are interested rather than just browsing. It also gives people who are relocating an excellent way of short listing properties they are genuinely interested in, and in these particular COVID days allows safe viewing too.

Advice/ Q&A videos
As mentioned earlier buying, selling, or renting a property is a huge step in someone’s life and there’s so much for them to consider that they may not have thought of. These types of videos help to make your clients feel more comfortable about making decisions and can save you time, as the videos can cover most of peoples’ questions so they are better informed and warmed up when they contact you. In addition to this, giving out your advice and knowledge on your website and social media can help to set you apart from your competitors as, knowledgeable, approachable and forward thinking.

About us video
As we were talking about earlier, showing the human side of your business is essential in getting clients to trust and feel comfortable with you. A short ‘about us’ video of your businesses director or staff members can be a great way to achieve this. It gives your clients the opportunity to see the faces behind the business and builds rapport which helps them feel like they already know you.

Event videos
Do you hold a yearly event? Got a big industry event coming up? Or even just an open house? A short video before the event or covering the event can be a great way to share what you are doing and can help you to advertise future events to your target audience.

Drone
Drones give us the unique ability to view our local area and point of interest from a new perspective. Sometimes it can be hard to visualise just how much land is surrounding an area, determine where boundaries are or see what other properties are in the location.

Aerial Photography
Okay aerial photography isn’t video; however, aerial photography can be a great thing to assist your video content and/or it can be a great way to show off fabulous buildings and the land surrounding it. Whereas historically aerial footage and photos would have been captured with a cherry picker or a helicopter, thanks to UAVs, or drones, aerial photography is now much easier to obtain and much more affordable.
Testimonials
Lastly but not least, testimonials. Testimonial videos are a brilliant way to show to future customers how reliable you are and can strengthen the credability of your business.
